I am what I call an occassional poet

which means I write poetry only occassionally

and it is usually some kind of special occassion that brings it forth.

The following is one of three poems that is included in my new book "Of Course."

momert

moment,

moment,

moment,

and then we breathe

then we sigh

moment,

moment,

moment,

now we eat

then we drink

moment,

moment,

moment,

here we kiss

then we love

moment,

moment,

moment,

i look in your eye

and see

all we have is

moment upon moment

breath upon breath

sigh of love

drink of moment

eat of kiss and

caress as if it is

the last second of us

The fiddle plays plaintively painfully

Soft and sorrowful

Calling to the heart of we

Bending the note to fit

Through the cracks of our moments together

This is all we have

Which is more than we could dream

And less than we wish

More than we hoped

As much as we can admit

The fiddle note fades and dies away

I can almost still hear it

Lingering in my souldream

Echoing in the eternity of sigh

Following the path of heart

Where does it go?

Only the moment knows

Only the moment can tell us

What is in store.

I give you my next moment

Take it and hold it to your heart

Another may follow.

moment,

moment,

moment,

Then we breathe ....
